Laboratory supplies for working with research peptides. Reconstitution is where a well-made compound is most often compromised, so the materials used for it matter as much as the peptide itself.
Bacteriostatic water
Bacteriostatic water is sterile water containing a small percentage of benzyl alcohol as a preservative, which is what allows a reconstituted solution to be stored and drawn from over time rather than used immediately. It is the standard diluent for lyophilized peptide research and the single most frequently ordered supply item alongside the compounds themselves.
Handling notes that protect your material
Lyophilized peptides are stable when kept sealed, cool, dry, and away from light, with refrigeration recommended for longer storage. Once reconstituted, the solution should be refrigerated and used within the window your research protocol defines. Two habits do most of the damage in practice: agitating the vial instead of swirling it gently, which can degrade peptides in solution, and repeated warming and cooling cycles. Multi-compound blends deserve particular care, since several peptides share the same solution.
